Abdominal pain after Gallbladder removal

Abdominal pain after Gallbladder removal

I have had pain in my abdomin (abdomen) for over a year.  i have had several tests including an EGD, ultrasound of the gallbladder, pancreas, liver, and spleen, an upper GI without contrast, an H. Pylori test, and a CT scan...everything has come out normal.  My specialist removed my gallbladder in the hopes that the pain would go away.  It has not.
the pain started june of '08 originally to the immediate left of my naval.  it would come and go for a couple of days at a time and then disappear, only to reappear later.  In Decemeber of '08 i had a constent pain in my Upper left quadrent under the ribcage for a straight week.  On the standard pain scale, i would say it was about an 8.  This is when i finally saw a doctor and since Janurary of '09 have had all the test previously mentioned.
The EGD showed mild gastritis, which my doctor said about 90% of the population has.  I have had Nexium prescribed twice. It DOES NOT work at all.  I have no ulcers, no visiable abnormalities of any kind.  When my gallbladder was removed, it appeared to be normal.
I am at my wits end. I am female, only 26 years old, i do not smoke, drink, or do any kind of drugs and never had.  I am about twenty pounds overweight, weighing 165 at 5 foot, four inches.  I have normal blood pressure; i have never been diagnosed for anything; no allergies that i am aware of. The pain is not noticably different before or after eating and does not alter when i change possions, such as standing or sitting.
I do not know what else it could be.  It has been suggested to my that i may have Croyns Diesease or IBS, but my bowel movements are very regular.  Is there a possiblity that it is all in my head?  Could it be stress related (I work full time and am a full time college student)  It just seems that every test has been run and nothing physical has been found.  What else is there left for my to try?

Hi,
Since all the tests done came out normal, this could be a functional pain.
But before calling it functional, a small bowel series and colonoscopy may be done to rule out bowel lesions.

Both the specialist I saw mentioned a colonoscopy but told me they felt it unneccesary.  Is it possible that I have a form of CFAP?

Yes. I have mentioned in my earlier post that it could be functional.
