Adenocarcinoma Intestinal Type

by samsue22, Jan 30, 2009 03:51PM
My 84 yr. mother had colon cancer 2 yrs. ago and drs. say she's cancer free.  Her medical sheet from
the nursing home states Adenocarcinoma Intestinal Type.  Could this be referring to the colon cancer?
Thanks

Hi,
Adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer. It can occur in colon ( and in other places as well).
The term intestinal type however is usually used to describe one of the types of cancer of stomach.
