Bloody mucous in stools

by Jo1114, Nov 30, 2008 07:50AM
Hi there, I have had intestinal problems for as long as I can remember, but for the past two years they have been much worse since my daughter became sick....tons of stress. Anyway, when I have flare ups and diarhea (diarrhea) for a long time, it is common for me to see mucous in my stools, since I ususally go to the point that nothing else is left to come out. For the past two weeks though (off and on) when I go to the point of mucous, there has been some thin streaks of blood mixed in with the mucous...my stomach is gurgling constantly also. Do you think this could be ulcerative colitis or something like that? The severity of the symptoms is not new, just the blood with them.

I am scared to death...I would appreciate any help you could give me!!

Hi,
Blood in stools is always abnormal. The causes include hemorrhoids, fissures, polyps, colitis, diversticulitis and cancer.
Colonoscopy test has to be done to find the cause.
