Colitis with constipation

I have just been diagnosed with Colitis via a biopsy taking during a colonoscopy. I have looked at the symptoms of Colitis and they reference Diarreah (diarrhea), I don't have and have never had diarreah (diarrhea), I have constipation. I am following an IBS diet which helps with the constipation. My question is does anyone else have Colitis with constipation? what foods should I avoid? My doctor has put me on meds that I looked up are for Crohns?
