IBD and new symptom

Last year I began having upper middle epigastric pain,  as well as daily cramps, diareah and an occasional spot of bright red blood in the stool.

I was evaluated 10 months ago by abdominal and pelvic CT,
Then 6 months ago by colonoscopy, EGD, and upper GI series with small bowel follow through.

The findings were mild proctitis and mild gastritis in the duodnem.  I have learned to control the cramps and diahreah by dietary changes, and the gastritis only occasionally bothers me still.

But, now I have started having a specific stinging pain on the right side of my abdomen.  It seems to be in the location of maybe the lower liver, or sometimes it feels maybe even a little lower than that.  IT IS MADE WORSE BY BENDING OVER FORWARD AND TAKE A BREATH IN.   It comes and goes.

Do you know if this is maybe another area of inflammation forming in the colon such as with my protctitis, or maybe do I need an emergency ultrasound or CT of the liver or appendix?

I would of course like to avoid a repeat colonoscopy at all costs.

Thank you.

Hi SuperRob,
The final opinion can be given only after examining you.
But meanwhile you can have a ultrasound to assess the gall bladder and the biliary tract.

But the chance of another inflammation in the colon is remote as the area of pain you have mentioned is not indicative of it.
