Ischemic Colitis

Is there a special diet after an attack and liquid diet. Started restricted food diet. Is there any restrictions long term diet if everything is OK?

There is no true diet to use for ischemic colitis - to my knowledge - since it is due to something going on in the blood vessels supplying the colon that is the cause of the problem. So most treatment is aimed at making sure a person does not get dehydrated, or form clots which could provoke another attack. Have you reviewed any medications you are currently taking such as high blood pressure meds, diuretics and the like to make sure they may not be causing problems?

Have you had the blood vessels in the abdominal area 'viewed' to try to find out if a specific area is compromised?
