Mucus and Blood

I'm having horrible pains under my belly button they got so bad at one point it caused me to throw up. I had diarrhea at first, then I had what looked like clear mucus with bright red blood as my stool. This all happened over the course of one day. I'm only 19, does anyone know what's wrong with me because I'm reallllly nervous?

I have been having the same symptoms for over a month now. It just started one day just as you said and hasnt gone away. They have given me every test you could possibly imagine. This experience has been horrible. I was admitted to the hospital for three days thinking my appendics were ready to burst but all tests as usual came back fine. about a week ago and tomorrow I go for a colonoscopy. My doctor thinks that it is colitis but not sure as of yet all I know is that the pain is horrible and the diarrhia is terrible. I have no fever and havent really had any weight loss as of yet. I do get very nausiated and fatigued. You should see a suergon and get a colonoscopy done. Good luck to you and I hope you get results soon. God bless

Hi..just wanted to post my two cents worth.  You didnt mention previous use of antibiotics (last couple of months), but if you've used one recently, ask your doc about C Diff too (google the symptoms and compare to yours).  Might wanna throw that in the round of tests he runs before he gives you a prescription.  Feel Better Soon!

Hi dub23,
You have said that you have -
1. Initial diarrhea
2. Blood and mucus in stools
3. Abdominal pain

All happened in the course of just one day and also you dont have fever.

All these symptoms are suggestive of colitis most probably amebic colitis.(Colitis is the inflammation of colon and infection is one of the causes).

Consult your physician who may do a few tests including a motion test and will start on medications which you may have to continue for 7-10 days.
