Mucus and red mucus in stool

Why am I going to the bathroom and white/clear mucus and sometimes red stringy musus coming out.  I am really scared it might me colon cancer.  No history of cancer in family.  I am 22 years old and have one son.  Please help me.

Hi,
Blood and mucus in stool can occur in colitis also.
You can ask your doctor for a colonoscopy test for evaluation.
