Navel Pain

by morenita9977, Jul 01, 2008 12:17AM
Dear Dr.,

I am currently experiencing a sharp pain in my navel area. It is painful to press that area with my hand. I have never experienced this type of pain before. (I also have an "innie" navel.) Before the pain started this evening, I experienced diziness this morning.

I am currently in the middle my menstrual cycle and I am not sure if this related to my problem.

I am generally a healthy person, although sometimes I experience problems passing bowel movements.

I am currently taking the medication doxycycline for my acne and I am not sure if the medication is related to any of the pain that I am experiencing in my navel area.

You assistance in answering my question is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Kind regards.

Hi morenita9977,
I would like to have more details about
1. The onset of pain
2. Whether it is continuous or intermittent
3. Worsening factors
4. Relieving factors
5. Whether it is disturbing your sleep
6. Whether it is radiating
7. What happens after food intake

Doxycycline can cause abdominal pain.
