Nose bleeds and colitis

I'm currently under investigation for what has so far been described as 'non-specific colitis', following almost constant bleeding since November last year. During that time I've had about 5 days when the bleeding stopped, but it started again and hasn't stopped since. What I have also noticed is that I am also getting nose bleeds when I am bleeding from this. Could the two be related or is it just coincidence?

My blood tests have all been 'normal' - although I'm not entirely sure what they have tested for. And I have low blood pressure.
