Pain after Gallbladder Surgery

Pain after Gallbladder Surgery

About 3 months ago I had my Gallbladder removed, I continued to have pain. I was then referred to a specialist for Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction and had a procedure to cut open the Sphincter valve. It's now been about 6 weeks and I am still having a lot of pain in my right upper side (made worse by eating) just as I had before they ever removed or cut anything. Is there any hope or is this just the way it is going to be? It has been suggested that I return for more tests but at this point I feel like maybe time is the answer, if there is an answer. I am 35yr old female with no history of digestive problems until this. I have lost at least 30 pounds through all this and would really like to eat food again.

Hi,
In persons in whom gallbladder is reomoved pain and other symptoms may occur after removal of GB. This is called post cholecystectomy syndrome. One of the causes is SOD dysfunction.
There are other causes as well like stone in the common bile duct. If present this has o be treated.
