Pediatric gastroenterology

I'm very worried about my 5 yr. old who had the "stomach flu" over a month ago, as the whole family did.  Since then she as had continuous puralent diarrhea and vomitting 2-3 times a week, usually 1-2 AM in her sleep.  She became dehydrated and had IV's. Her pediatrician thinks it will get better.  Finally they took stool, blood and urine samples.  Her blood was normal, urine showed dehydration and ketosis, no salmonella in stool, but waiting for parasite results.  Her color can get very pale and I've been very concerned for a couple of years about a slight yellow color to her skin with dark circles under her eyes.  There is a definite odor to her.  What could be causing this?

Hi,
Persistent vomiting, diarrhea with characteristic odor could indicate a metabolic problem.
Evaluation of an error in metabolism is very exhaustive.
Consult her pediatrician from complete evaluation.
