Sticky / mucus on stools don't know if blood-worried

by justmexxx, Oct 24, 2009 07:38PM
Over the past month I have started to check my stools. I have noticed now and again a sticky mucus clinging to my stools. I wouldn't say they were bloody red more orange to dark orange / brown color. When I wipe I dont have any sign of blood on the toilet paper just abit sticky. I am very regular every morning.and this has never changed. My stools seem normal too long sausage shape not to hard or soft. There is also no pain when I have a BM, I have also tried to feel my stomach for lumps and cant feel anything. I am not losing weight. I also feel fine in myself no stomach pains or anything. I am a very paranoid person and hopefully worrying about nothing. Like I said I have only just started checking my stools, so don't normal for me or not. I am 28 male regreatably smoke about 7 a day, And maybe I dont have enough fibre and  fruit as I should have. Is this normal and am worrying about something for nothing. ? please someone answer thanks.

Hi,
Some amount of mucus is stools is considered normal.
Increased mucus in stool can occur with infection, IBD and IBS.
Take fiber supplements and plenty of fluid.
