Vaginal bleeding after defacating.

by Emilyinfl, Jan 26, 2009 08:07PM
On the 17th of this month I had my period like normal. And today I went to the bathroom and strained a little while I went and when I wiped I had some vaginal bleeding. It was fresh red blood. It was definately from my vagina not my rectum. I was wondering if this was "normal" to bleed like this after defacating? Or could this be something more serious?  This has never happened to me before.

Hi,
Defecation may not lead to bleeding from vagina. Though you have clearly mentioned that it is not from the rectum, examination by a doctor is needed to look for lesions in the anal canal like hemorrhoids.
