abnormal tissue in lining of abdomen or omentum - always cancer?

Digestive issues and symptoms like IBS but required CA125 which indicated high levels and required CatScan of abdomen.  Resulted in finding of abnormal tissue in lining of abdomen.  May include omentum.  What is remedy?  Anything other than surgery?  Is this always cancer?  We have appointent for consult and possible biopsy with Gyno-oncologist.

Hi,
Biopsy is required for final diagnosis.
Thickening could be due to infection or cancer.
High CA 125 points towards malignancy.
