cdiff?

Hi I am a 38 year old male, I was on clyndamycin for 10 days for a tooth infection from june 24- jul 3. I stopped taking the medication because I was getting diarrhea. My doctor had my tested for cdiff and the test was negetive. My stomach had been slowly improving and was nearly back to normal until yesterday. I had diarrhea 3 times and once was only mucus with some blood in it. Is it still possible that I have cdiff after all and how is this possible. I don't have a temp or any cramping yet, but i do have the most persistent diarrea (diarrhea) that i have had so far and my stomach is very noisy and gassy.

thanks

Hi seamus178,
The possibility of having clostridium difficile infection is high as you were taking clindamycin and developed  diarrhea during the course of antibiotic treatment.
Though fever and abdominal cramping are symptoms of clostridum difficile infection, they need not be present in all the patients who get this infection.
