colitis

Most of what I find is the symtems for colitis has much to do with diarrhea, but our son get severly constipated, is this normal with colitis?

Hi,
Constipation can occur in colitis.
This occurs when the rectum undergoes spasm.

It is possible. His doctor may prescribe adding soluble fibre to his diet. there are some fibre powders that may help- fibresure- etc. but you should ask his doctor before using these.
