Hi,
Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease. In this varying lengths of colon gets inflammed leading to various complications.

On the other hand divericulitis is inflammation of the diverticuli. Diverticuli are outpouchings in the colon, more often found in the left colon. It is commonly seen in elderly individuals and is usually associated with constipation.
