gallbladder removal, predisone colitus fatty foods.

I have had serious bouts of colitus but am now in remission but still suffer the affects of prednisone on my mood.

Question 1.  Has any one else had mood instabilty from predinsone, and if so how long did it take for you to get over the affects of this medication?  I still have problems and its been 2 years, I'm afraid the damage is permanent.

Question 2:  I just got my gallbladder out after months of pain, nausea and misdiagnosis.  Will having my gaallbladder out affect my colitus? if so how?

Question 3.  The terrible nausea is gone but i still feel pain in my upper right quadrant after I eat (especially anything with fat).  I am 6 weeks post surgery.  Will the pain after eating get better over time?

Hi,
1. One of the side effects of long term prednisone is psychiatric disturbances. You need to taper the dose and stop it and take alternative medications. Discuss with your doctor about this. NEVER STOP Prednisone ABRUPTLY.

2. No it will not affect your colitis

3. This is called postcholecystectomy syndrome. A reevaluation needs to be done. Consult your gastroenterologist for reevaluation.
