i have sharp pains before i go to the bathroom

by brittnico, Oct 18, 2009 12:31AM
Hi my name is brittany and i'm 24. Ok so i really don't know what to do. I've been having problems with my digestive system for about 6 months now. I get these sharp pains that feel like someones stabbing me in my left lower stomage. I get these pains right before i have to go number 2. Once i feel like i have to go number 2, if i don't go right away like in 5 seconds i get the sharp pains. Not only do i get the pains but sometimes i have mucus in and around my stool. I don't have the mucus all the time but ive nocticed it about 6 times since the pains. My stool always comes out as small balls. I haven't had a solid stool in a long time. one last thing, i always feel like theres more poop to come out when i go to the bathroom but it won't come out. I really need help as to what to do and if you know what might be going on with me.
thanks

Hi,
Your symptoms are suggestive of irritable bowel syndrome.
Take high fiber diet, fiber supplements and plenty of fluids for relief.
Also take librax.
