My middle aged son is having fairly severe pain in his lower left side - both front and back. He has been diagnosed with a variety of ills - colitis, diverticulosis, gastric acid reflux (kidney stones ruled out last week). Cat scans and MRIs have shown nothing definitive, but the pain persists and is interfering with his daily activities of living. He had Hodgkins Disease 20 years ago, treated with six months of chemo and one month of radiation (no splenectomy). His one stint on antibiotics two weeks ago alleviated the pain considerably, but when he went off the med, the pain returned. I am wondering if he might have an infection? Any advice/help would be appreciated. He has been treated by an internist - should he see a gastroenterologist? Many thanks, Bonnie
