procolitis help?

hi could anyone please tell how i can stop my bowel working over time,i have colitis now 4years now,it seems to be just in my tail end tho which is call procolitis i need to know how to stop the gurrling[noise] from my insides and when i go to the toilet its like an explosion and  my stool are loose and bloody,im on asacol and suppositories, they are not working at the min,maybe they are keeping my from getting worse i dont know.i am also taking aloe vera juise,vitimains. will fibre help or not? i think i jus need to thicken my stools and stop my bowel working hard i know diet plays a big part but i need to know what. I used soya milk and butter as they say dairy products up set things i read so much stuff i dont know what way to turn  and before u ask, i have been to my consultant and he has upped my dose of asacol, they dont know much about diet.. please please help its getting me down im trying my best to live with this but finding it hard.thanks

Hi,
Asacol itself can cause diarrhea.
Also insoluble fiber can worsen UC. Take soluble fiber instead.
Fish oil supplements would be helpful.
Excess dairy products should be avoided.

If you still have bloody diarrhea in spite of maximum dose of asacol, then you may have to take a course of steroids to bring the disease under control.
