Bright Red Blood in Stool

Bright Red Blood in Stool

I have had bleeding out of my rectum for a year and a half. I have endometriosis and thought it was a side affect of the disease so I never did anything about it. Just two weeks ago though I have been bleeding a lot more.. when I look the toliet is filled with blood. The toilet paper is soaked in it and it really is like I am having a period of my butt. My mother called the doctor, because I was at work and they told me to go the hospital. I did and they said that I have a small cut. I have not stopped bleediing though and it just gets worse. I get horrible pain that is unbearable and pretty sure a smal cut would not cause that much blood. Like I said I haev been bleeding for a year and a half and starting two weeks ago I bleed everyday. Never stopping. Also it is more then once or twice a day. I will try to talkt o the doctor agai, but I am curious if this is serious or really just froma small cut?

Rectal bleeding always requires a definitive diagnosis and thereafter the relevant treatment.  I suggest that you revisit your doctor and, unless the cause can be 100% confirmed as minor (e.g. anal fissure/cut or haemorrhoids) I suggest that you request a colonoscopy in case the cause originates higher up the intestines.
