Could this be anything less serious

Hello, I am new to this forum. I had adhesions removed July 22, 2009. I was in the hospital for 9 days. Came home and had a blockage stayed in the hospital for weeks had a gastric tube and feeding tube, came home the end of Aug. I have what they called thickening of the colon and still have it. My Surgeon and Primary want me to be seen at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn. I have seen a Gas Dr. that has ran all kinds of bloodwork and tests. I was on Predizone for 8wks (while in hospital) 60mg highest. This Gas. Dr is putting me another antibotic (antibiotic) Xifaxan and is planning to do a colonascopy the 30th both ends and he is going into the ilieum (sp). he feels I would be better off getting the treatment with him where it is close. I have no gas. disease IBS, Diver, Colitis...everything is coming back neg. I dont like being put on medication if he cant find a diagnosis. I have severe pain in the abdomin (abdomen), bloating (when I eat) I can hardly eat or drink anything anymore, blood in stools (occassionally) and nausa. It started about 8mths ago and up to todays date it has grown steadliy worse. I'm on Hydro 7.5 for the pain (hurts to sit up or even walk from the movement of my abdomin (abdomen)). Is there a slight possiblity that this could be some form of cancer? I am really tired all the time, I went from the occassional nap to sleeping constantly throughout the day. Any opinions or advise?
