Im 30 year old male from the UK. for Last few months i have had bleeding on my toilet tissue. Thought it was just a pile so left it.

About 2 months ago i noticed the bleeding had gotten worse and it was actually in the water now and it was happening most of the time i went to the toilet and i was noticing my stools was narrower than normal, i went doctors he checked if i had a pile and said no.  He told me just to monitor  it. Next couple weeks i lost 2 stone+ , everyone was saying i look like a different person. I went from 19 stone to 17 stone. not much fat on me as a do alot of weight lifting. i Then had the following symtpoms and get them to this date 2 months on.
Stomach pain all over abs mainly on right sight but can go to left.
Muscus in stool
white / yellow tongue
Rash under me arm pit
for 2 days a had a burning senation all over my chest which went.
loose stools and constipation
My doctor put me on a 10 day course of pednisone corti steriods or something, 40 mg a day, after taking this for 3 days theblood in stool stopped and ive only seen blood the once after which i stopped tese about 12 days ago.The blood i get is Bright red in colour.

The tests ive had done are:
Sigmoidoscopy == ALL OK they said a little inflammation but , but thats prob do with enema.
UltraSound of full abdominal== ALL NORMAL
Stomach X_RAY== ALL NORMAL
Camera down my throat == ALL NORMAL

also had a Barium Enema yesterday which im awaitign results
and chest xray- awaiting results

ANyone here have any insight at all on my case, i have a young family which is my life, im going out my mind with worry :(

Your symptoms are almosy exactly what I was experiencing.  Mine got to the point that i was passing more blood than anything else.  Doc put me on some antibiotic and set me up with the endocronologyst to do the colonoscopy within 2 days.  They found a 12mm (1/2 inch) polup that was cancerous; and made me come back a year later - where they found another one.  Not sure how your national healthcare works; but you need to insist on getting a colonoscopy asap.  I am 40 with no history of cancer... good luck.

The thing im worried about is the bleeding and weight loss, everything i look at indicates thats a cancer. i liver seems to be hurting, and i hardly drink, i had liver function test and my ALT was high.. doc said it wasnt too high to worry about.
Also on the Ultrasound my liver looked normal.
Would a biopsy on left side of colon mean right side is ok aswell??

If your biopsy was clear then you should be ok as far as cancer goes.  Have you checked the GI forum?  There may be people there with similar symptoms who cah give you some information.  There may be something in your diet that is causing your troubles.  Good luck.

Sorry for my late reply m8, just i only have access to net from my work pc..

They did loads biopsys on my sigmoid colon and they came back all fine. also when they did the throat camera he did biopsy on my didadaum or something to check for celiac diease , that came back ok aswell..
All this is making me fear the worse, i really think something bad is up :(

Yes, rectal cancer would be seen on the sigmoidoscopy.  So if that was clear then at least its not in your rectum.  Colonoscopy will visualize the entire colon, in case the problem is further up.  Ask about the inflammation that was noted earlier.  Did they biopsy anything?

rectal cancer would be lower part of colon wouldnt it?? the sigmoidoscopy is a camera up rectum and all way up left hand colon. that would of spotted rectal cancer wouldnt it??? or can rectal cancer be far right of colon?? but that would be colon cancer???
when they did sigmoidocopy they said rectal was ok

sorry about my daft questions,

I'm sorry to tell you that your symptoms are just what I experienced before being diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer.  I had family history, but did not know that meant I should begin screening early.

It is rare in young people, but it can happen.  Keep asking your doc for colonoscopy - its the gold standard for diagnosis.  Good luck and keep me posted.  I'll keep a good thought for you.

Do you have any family history of colon cancer?  Have you had colonoscopy?  If you don't get a satisfactory answer, insist on colonoscopy.
