How fast do i need a surgery?

My aunt, a 60 years old female has been diagnosed with cancer in the recto sigmoid junction. The tumor is so large that the colonoscope could not penetrate beyond it. The tumor bleeds on touch. The biopsy report has confirmed adenocarcinoma. CT scan reveals cysts in the liver. Doctors are suspecting a stage IV cancer and are prescribing surgery as early as possible. My question is, whether I should take some more time and take her abroad for better treatment (?) or shoud I go for the surgery first and then check out my chemo and/or radio therapy options. Awaiting your advice.

I Agree with Mammo....She needs surgery as soon as possible.  MD Anderson has the best oncologist.  Your aunt can go on their website "mdanderson.org" and fill out a self referral. They get back with you within a day after you fill out the info.  Good luck and God Bless your aunt and  your family.

Hi,
My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Did she have a clean colonoscopy at age 50?  Agnes

She needs surgery now!  If you have any doubts about her current doctor or hospital, MD Anderson in Texas is the best in this field.  But time is of essence right now.
