Not sure how dire this is: malignant polyp

Hello, 52-year-old female here, went for a colonoscopy last Wednesday with no prior appointment with the gastroenterologist performing the procedure.  I had considered myself to be in good health except for annoying rectal bleeding and constipation with a lot of gas.  He talked for five minutes with us afterwards (I was drugged before he began the procedure), revealed nothing, but thanks to Versed I recall nothing of that, so it didn't matter.

Got a card in the mail today with a box checked, "malignant polyps found."  Another box checked, repeat colonoscopy in six months.

Should I become very concerned about this, or should I assume the blase attitude of this doctor's office?  Of course the word "malignancy" shocks the hell out of me.  What should I assume from this card?  That I had a polyp that just showed dysplasia, a pre-cancerous condition?  That the polyp showed a neoplasm that was confined to the polyp itself, and the doctor was confident that any cancer was resected during the colonoscopy?  Problem solved, make sure it doesn't come back?  Should I even think that I have colorectal cancer?

I assume if there was a real problem, they would have at least called, or suggested a follow-up face to face appointment soon without me being under the influence of Versed.  Or would it be dangerous to make assumptions?

But jeez, if a doctor's office is going to check a box that says "malignant," shouldn't they at least also scribble in some sort of explanation?

I would demand a follow-up visit and speak to a doc about this.  I had a pre-cancerous polyp and my gastro removed as much as she could and referred me to a surgeon to make sure it is ALL gone.  (I am going back in January to get the rest removed).  My sister died of colorectal cancer so I see any malignancy as a VERY serious issue that needs to be addressed immediately!
