Hello, I am new to this forum. I have a couple of questions. Two years ago, I developed Graves' Disease. Since then, I have become more and more aware of my body and how it functions. Earlier this year, I realized that I was having trouble having BMs. My Gynocologist explained that it was most likely rectocele. It was suggested that I supplement with stool softeners, which made no difference. After talking with my GP, I changed to a mild laxative. Now, I am taking two laxatives in the morning and two in the evening. I have also increased the amount of water I drink and fruit I eat. I have noticed that on occasion, especially if it has been a few days since I have had a BM, that I will develope a mild pain in my lower left abdomin (similar to where an ovary would be). This discomfort usually diminishes after a BM. I have also noticed fresh blood with my stools.
I do plan on discussing all of this with my doctor but we are about to go on a trip for the holidays. Is there anything I should be worried about or does this sound fairly minor? I realize that only a doctor visist and possible tests will give the answer. I don't like having to take four laxative pills a day but its the only way I can get discomfort.
It seems that the medication I take for my Graves' doesn't help, but only worstens the situation.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope you can give some helpful suggestions.
