They biopsy anything that doesn't appear normally within the colon. This doesn't mean that anything is wrong, it may just be the shape of your colon, but they have to follow procedure. Even if it's something, it's very early in the game, so it will be caught before it would turn cancerous. Treatment depends on exactly what it is.
