bowel cancer

Hi, I am 61yrs old & the last 7 days have had reel bad &tight tummy oains followed by  havung 2 rush 2 loo etc  the stools seem 2 B like mucus--edy brown in colow some times----it mainly seems 2 happen at night time--not getting much sleep-----because of it--- wondered if U could give me an idea is 2 what may B causing this

You are at the age when the more sinister GI diseases can occur.  This does not mean that I believe that you might have bowel cancer - as suggested in the heading of your posting.

However, I do think it endorses the suggestion that any significant change in bowel habits should cause you to seek medical advice - you surely "fit" this criterion.  Also I think you may find that a colonoscopy could be the most comprehensive test to rule out (hopefully) your worst fears.
