My father (now 62 yrs) was diagonised with colon-ascending cancer stage IV in 2008. Got operated and given chemo(FOLFOX II regime) for 11 cycles. PET CT scan confirmed the cure of cancer. Now his CEA levels raised to 12.5 and when PET CT done small tumors in lung and liver. PET responded to tumor in liver and confirmed to be cancer but tumor in lungs did not respond to PET. He is not been advised 6 cycles of FOLFIRI. CEA started droping from 12.5 to 4.85. Now at the completion of 4th cycle CEA increased to 5.12.
Can somebody please let me know if this is normal in this kind of treatment and the chances of cure.
