helping a friend

My friend has severe bloating and constipation after colon surgery. She was operated for an ovarian cancer. They also resected 30 cm of her intestine. She suffers from a severe constipation and bloating now.What diet / interventions would be recommended at this point? She is 4 weeks post-op.
