hi fevers and a family history

by totalchaos37, Jun 03, 2009 07:07PM
My husband has a family history of colon cancer 2 of his 3 brother have had it one has passed away from colon cancer. Over the past 10 days my husband has been running a high fever of 103 plus then it will drop to 95.4 and raise once again,hi has had problems with bloat back pains and chest pains over the past 3 years and the doctors have not found much but no one has looked into his family history. can these also be symptoms of colon cancers? and should i push the doctors until something is found.

Hi - I can't say whether your husband's present symptoms are indicative of colon cancer but I certainly think you should ask your doctor/G.I. specialist "look - there is a strong history of colon cancer in my husband's family with one death.  Would it be a good idea to undergo a precautionary colonoscopy now and then to repeat this test at ??? year
intervals?"
