radiation burn, colon
About 15 years ago my sister had colon cancer.  An encapsulated tumor was removed from just above the internal sphincter.  She had radiation following surgery (about 3 weeks later) This left her with a terrible smelling discharge.  She also will go several days without bowel movement, then after several days it will start moving out a bit at a time all day long. She is exhausted by days end.  Lately she is losing sodium and is very weak.. some days she can't walk without help.  Her physician is giving her normal saline by IV  to help. She will perk up a few days, then she is very weak again and her sodium is low again. She has been to several doctors. Can you help??

Go to the following website and ask if her doctors have checked her for all the causes for low sodium.  Something is causing it and they need to get more aggressive in looking for the cause.
