Hi, I know this post is old, but was wondering how you are now? I am 34/f and just had a 1.1 cm tubulovillous adenoma (benign) removed during a colonoscopy (was having blood/mucous) in stool. I have similar questions. I meet with my GI doctor next month, but have so many questions for him. I'm nervous about future colon cancer as well. Turns out my GI doc thinks the polyp was accidentally found, because hemorrhoids were causing my bleeding. I was just wondering how you were, I tried private messaging you a couple days ago, but didn't know if you were still active on here. Thanks, take care...
I would expect your doctor to order repeat colonoscopy, but I'm not sure how frequently. Routine colonoscopy is usually done at 10 year intervals, but your doctor may want to repeat the test in five years (maybe fewer) since you did have precancerous polyps.
I have them every 2 years, but I have a history of cancer. They will probably let me go to 5 year intervals after the next one or two, provided I remain cancer-free.
Curious as to what your symptoms were to go in for a colonoscopy at 29?
