Protrusion behind chin/jaw when yawning

So, like the title says, when I yawn sometimes I will get this protrusion behind the right side of my chin, as though whatever it is is about to pop out and dislodge, and I have to move my jaw around to keep it from doing so (or at least feeling like it will). It also happens when I turn my head a certain way or do a few crunches. There is pain and it is disconcerting. There will be some tenderness afterwards, and I've noticed that at times it feels as though my throat is... I want to say closing, but it's slight. Swollen? The protrusion feels like a muscle or joint, I don't think the problem is my jawbone. I've attached a pic of the area. If you can give me an idea of what's wrong I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
