Konsyl, Is a little gritty but it's recommended buy many Colon/Rectal doctors
I was kind of expecting someone might know a psyllium cereal. So thanks for the knowlege; will save me a lot of time looking. I will also check out the Konsyl fiber you suggested. I am aware that psyllium is also found in Metamucil; however I prefer Benefiber because it is tasteless and dissolves well in liquids.Patty123789
Fiber One Original Is an excellent cereal! If you want a psyllium fiber product
Buy Konsyl - Original Formula Psyllium Fiber, you can get it at any drug store
Thanks for your input. I recently read there were psyllium cereals but could not locate just by reading the fronts of boxes. Haven't searched internet yet. I do take benefiber but know whole foods are the real thing, which am trying hard to incorporate in my "diet". Also, more fiber of course. So hard to change after these many years of sugars, carbs, wheat, and all the others that make so difficult to keep off the pounds. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions. Enjoy each and every comment. No, not just for a colonoscopy. The colon cleansing done for a colonoscopy is very quick acting and very strong pharmaceutical products, not what is used in natural colon cleansing, which takes longer and is usually much gentler. If it works too quickly, yes, you'll get dehydrated, but colon cleansing does help rid the body of toxins that stick to the walls of the digestive system. One way to do this is to fast; no food in, food out. Another quick way is to use coffee enemas, but fast means it can be dehydrating and should be done only under the care of a professional. To do on your own, find a product based on things such as psyllium and other fibers, which will gently scrape the digestive system walls. Some of these contain laxatives, which work faster, but shouldn't be taken for very long, such as cascara sagrada, aloe herb (not the juice), and butterbur. Anything that works fast enough to dehydrate you really doesn't sound all that natural to me unless it's an enema, and certainly isn't safe.
Not a physician! I do an lot of reading and research.
Hey, I'm just beginning to see how this works, very interesting and thanks for the comment/reply. Are you a physician, or input just from experience? Just curious, of course. Any other comments anyone?
Your digestive system and bowel naturally eliminate waste material and bacteria your body doesn't need colon cleansing to do this.
Colon cleansing can sometimes be harmful. The main concerns with colon cleansing are that it can: Increase your risk of dehydration. The only time to do it is for a colonoscopy.
