Question : Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg
of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely
dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back
to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her
that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother
should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.
Your mom needs to make an appointment with the doctor who prescribed
her the teva-rabeprazole. You never replace a medication with another
one without your doctor's knowledge.

This is a question for your physician. It can probably be handled with a telephone call.
