prednisone and cataract surgery

My husband has Crohn's disease and has had irritis 3-4 times in the last few years. The last time he was on the prednisone drops for a month or more. His cataract got much worse and now he has to have surgery. Are there other anti-inflammmatory medicines he can use before and after surgery instead of a cortisone? His eye pressure was up considerably during the time he took the prednisone. He is 57 years old and takes Imuran.
