Horsetail's main effect on hair is that it's a natural source of silica. There are many natural remedies used for hair. The main one is biotin, but if you look at a combination hair formula you'll see a lot of nutrients as nobody knows which you might be short on. As for contraindications with thyroxine, there shouldn't be, but to be sure you can always contact the American Herbal Products Association and consult Prescription for Nutritional Healing and Prescription for Herbal Healing -- it contains many contraindications in its discussions. As for the iron in your multivitamin, keep in mind that most multis don't contain supplements that give the best absorption. Iron is a particularly difficult one to absorb, and badly absorbed iron can cause constipation and other problems. So keep that in mind when you choose a supplement -- they're not all created equal.
