Bone Graft

Hi, I had bone graft last Friday taken from my bottom left jaw and the bone was then put into my top gum i am in the early stages of dental implants. They are my front two teeth. All is fine but i still cannot open my mouth properly is this normal.. Thanks

IF they took a block graft, it is probably well within the normal expectation. it is possibly due to anumber of factors, the least of which is not the anesthetic injections.. If you don't have any swelling in the area, and your surgeon oks, you camn apply some moist heat to the muscles of your jaw and little by little you will see that the resticted function will get better.

Hi thanks for your reply , I do still have very slight swelling to the graft area.
But it has nearly gone im due back to maxfax in another 2 weeks .. is there anything i could do to help open my mouth a litlle more at a time?

Also one more question sorry, I currently have an essix splint in at the minute, when i go back in a fortnight will they adjust my pallett do u know? And im sure i heard my surgeon mention that when the screws are placed in the bone they will be covered i dont know how long then exposed? am i right?
