Bridge or Implant?

Hi,

I am a 49-year old male. I have had my front lower teeth (24 and 25) fused in my entire life. Apparently, because of that there was bacterial infection and decay inside. Now, my dentist tells me that both the teeth are lost due to excessive bone loss, and must be extracted. He offered two options - a bridge from 23 to 26 (possibly 27), or an implant for 24 and 25. The cost for bridge is $6500 and the cost for implant is $14000. There is also some bone and gum graft.

Any thoughts on which way to go? What are the risks for implants? Is the risk greater for the front teeth or is it reasonable?

A fixed 4 units bridge probably will yield optimal cosmetic result. Replacement with implant does'nt require preparation of abutment teeth, but not cosmetically as good as conventional fixed bridge.Consultation with your restorative dentist is advised.

i experienced terrible problems after implant placement and have since had them removed, I would consider properly before screwing metal permanently into your jaw bone.
