Broke my front teeth, will a crown work better than bonding?

I recently fell and broke my two front teeth and shattered one tooth to right of my front ones. I needed a root canal for one front tooth, but I'm not sure about the other since its not giving me any pain. I have my dentist do some bonding, but I hear it doesnt last very long. Are crowns a better option for this? If so, how much could this potentially cost me? Also, I was told if I can keep my original teeth its better than getting a crown or bridge.
