Crowns are still uncomfortable after two years

What can be done to relieve discomfort from crowns? I had to have 9 crowns and made the mistake of having them done all at once. The initial work took 3 hours and my mouth has never fully recovered. The initial pain and discomfort has subsided but the roof of my along the front gum line continues to feel irritated. I have been to the dentist many times for adjustments. He says that I have hypersensitivity and is somewhat dismissive of my complaints. I can appreciate that as two years is a long time but I would like to have one day where I am not distracted by some concern about my crowned teeth.
I am not saying all general dentist do not know details about teeth, but a prosthodontist might give you a little more insight about the problem.
