Prednisolone And Gums?

by LadyKhan, Oct 27, 2009 07:18AM
I was on Prednisolone for just over 17 months non stop and now my gums have receded on the bottom of my mouth and my teeth have got like a brown line going through them. its mainly the bottom middle two and the two either side. I have puss like stuff come out from under my gum and it is making my breath smell. It has been like this for awhile but I live in the UK and can't afford to see a dentist! And it very sore. I have Crohn's Disease and some form of arthritis so I have taken some very strong medications in the past. Could you be able to tell if it was the steroids or some other kind of drug, I brush my teeth twice a day, floss one and use mouthwash.
Thank you
Vicky, Cornwall UK

Seeing a periodontist is advised. Home remedy is probably of no avail.
