Root canal for chipped tooth?

Root canal for chipped tooth?

Back in Febuary I chipped my incisor by landing face front, though I landed on my palms too. I had a triple layer composite resin procedure done to fix it. The dentist recommended that I should get a root canal in the future but left me with no future details. It is now July and I am not experiencing any pain or discomfort or noticing anything unusual about the tooth. Two months ago I had an oral exam performed by another dentist. He took X-rays of all my teeth and did not mention that I needed a root canal (though I did not ask him whether I needed one or not).

Do you recommend that I get a root canal anyways?
