Salviary Gland

by nycguy1, Oct 26, 2009 10:57PM
This may sound strange, but it is true.

After becoming infected with HSV1 in the mouth and a serious anxiety attack, my mouth became dry. I assumed it would go away but it became worse. One day I looked in the mirror and on the left side of mouth and towards the left back (down) there was some GREEN moldy looking stuff all covering the side. I took some neem leaf extract and squirted the liquid on allthe green moldy stuff. It "killed" the green stuff and fell off revealing normal skin underneath. Most importantly, my saliva flowed normally again. However, the dry mouth due to "clogged" saliva continued. I cannot see anything, but now after visitng my dentist, I was told that my left partoid gland is not producing any saliva. They do not believe my story or know what I am talking about. I believe the infection is probably deep into the left side of my mouth. I have a strong suspicion this is a fungal infection of some sort, such as candida glabrata (I had a PCR done on some suspicious fungal like stuff that came out of my mouth later on). Is this even possible? And if so, I understand that only certain intravenous antifungals can "kill" glabrata. If i get intravenously injected with some of this antifungals, will it go upwards to my mouth area and kill the glabrata in my partoid gland? Second, is there ANY way to actually biopsy the inside of my mouth or partoid gland to figure out the type of infection? Doctors say that the biopsy wont help because it could be contaminated on the way out. Is this true? Finally, I would just like to remove my partoid gland if necessary, would this be a good solution? Thank you.

Seeing an oral pathologist or oral medicine specialist is advised. If there is no neoplasm associated with parotid gland, removal of parotid gland is not necessary.

Thanks you scottma. I am afraid that some sort of fungal infection is continuing to spread. Do you think they can cut me open to see the gland, fix it and put it back in?

Fungal infection is generally treated by topical or systemic administration of antifungal agent.Surgical intervention is rarely indicated.
