Swollen Jaw

by Ashley420, Apr 26, 2009 09:26PM
For a few years now my jaw has had problems. At first it would just make popping and clacking noises. Then my left side began to pop and I could somewhat move my jaw around. That started spreading to my right side. These past few days I have experienced many strange symptoms with my mouth. At first it felt as if my jaw was dislocated so I tried to wiggle it around and do some TMJ excersizes off the internet. That didn't help. I noticed that my teeth would not line up. Soon my jaw started gnashing, grinding, and moving by itself. I could feel a pain in each tooth that was like a shock. I thought it was no big deal so I took a few aspirin and went to bed. The next day my left jaw line swelled up in a matter of 10-15 mins. I felt short of breath, and dizzy. I went to the hospital and it spread to my right while waiting in the ER. They didn't help me at all. My whole jaw is still extremely swollen, I am naseous, it's hard to catch my breath, and my teeth still don't allign properly. What can I do?!

Dear Patient
Yes you could be suffering from TMJ dysfunction and possibly some wisdom teeth issues. I would like you to see an Oral Surgeon and a TMJ expert by referring to top3dentist.com.
