Tooth still painful after root canal

Tooth still painful after root canal

Last year at my regular dentist appointment he noticed that #31 tooth was fractured (probably due to teeth grinding). He told me I needed a crown and that procedure was completed and all seemed well.  I was much more diligent wearing my mouth guard at night.  Two months ago tooth with crown became very sensitive to hot and hold and my dentist sent me to an endodontist.  She performed a root canal with temp filling in my crown and I then returned to regular dentist for permanent filling.  Soon after tooth became painful when biting down.  Returned to endo where she said all  I needed was to have my bite adjusted.  She drilled a bit and asked me to bite down several times and it seemed to be better for about a week but now it's starting up again. Even when not biting down there is a "presence" like I know it's not right.  Should I return to my regular dentist or to the endo?

If the root canal obturation is optimal, your current presentations suggest deep fracture , which is probably hopeless to rescue.Going back to your endodontist is advised.
