Why do I have pain in my jaw when opening my mouth?

by xginax0x, Oct 02, 2009 10:26PM
For the past week and a half I have been experiencing jaw pain on the left side of my mouth.  It doesn't bother me when I talk because I'm not opening my mouth that wide, but when I eat, yawn, etc. it's very painful.  I've also noticed that the teeth on the left side of my mouth aren't aligned correctly (when I bite down my teeth don't line up straight).li  My right eyelid has also been twitching very frequently.  I haven't had any surgury on my jaw/mouth recently and nothing I can think of happened to me that would be the source of my pain.  I have no idea what caused this.  What is wrong with me?

Seeing a tmj specialist or orofacial pain specialist is advised.
